My first quilt!

I've shared a little about quilting here on my blog before, but today I'm going to share with you my very first quilt! Well, it's my first quilt to start, in the process I have completed 2 baby quilts and a collegiate quilt for a friends graduation gift. (I'll share those with you tomorrow.) My life seems to always work that way, starting something and finishing many other things before getting back to the one you started. But, finally...SUCCESS! From start to finish, picking out fabric, sewing it all together, quilting on the Tin Lizzie quilting machine, and binding...I did it! =)

TA - DA!!!

Sampler Quilt
I first started this quilt in a quilting class with my Ma'am (mother-in-law) and my Mom...what a blessing to spend time with them both! This quilt has led to many things...I now help out at this quilt shop (All Those Quilts) every Wednesday and my knowledge for quilting has grown by leaps and bounds! I have made so many new friends and cherish each and every one!

Here are some close ups of each block:

I had a little encouragement to get this quilt finished...my Ma'am told me about a Summer Sewing Contest on one of the blogs she follows, and encouraged me to check it out. I did and I now follow the blog also! So, I decided to enter my quilt into the contest!

I've really enjoyed working on this quilt and learning new things...I can't wait to start on the next project!

  2. No kidding! This is my favorite quilt of all the quilts that I have ever seen in my lifetime. Love the colors and the patterns.
What a blessing it is to watch you enjoy the people, the places, and the things that you love. Amazing journeys are so much fun!
