JNC Events & Designs

Psalm 37:4 - Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

God's promises are so many, and so wonderful! He just wants a relationship with us and He wants to bless us abundantly. I have been on the receiving end of many blessings throughout my life, and I so often take them for granted. I wanted to share with you my most recent blessing, something I have always dreamed of and it is now becoming a reality.

This is my dream which is now a reality, I just didn't know this is what it was going to be called:

JNC Events & Designs, LLC.
DBA: Nik's-Naks

I'm going to pretend no one reading this knows my background, and fill you all in. I have my degree in Interior Design and Art. I love design work, and anything artsy! I also love event planning (showers, parties, weddings, etc.). I have worked for as long as I can remember, I baby-sat and was a lifeguard through high school. I waited tables and worked odd and end jobs through college. I started my first "real" job a week after college graduation and have been an employee at 2 different cabinet companies and a tractor dealership (that's another story =)) since then. I always figured I would have a 8-5 job working for someone else. For the past 6 years, this has been the case. January 2nd of this year that changed...I went in to what I thought was going to be  a normal Tuesday at work and was told the company was closing (due to the economy, monetary reasons). WOW! How do you call your husband and tell him you are unemployed? It was easy, he is the best! Thank you handsome husband of mine for the continued support, encouragement, and most importantly faith in me!

I had been helping friends and family with events the past couple of years (making invitations, cakes, planning, etc.) after work and during the weekends. I had always dreamed of doing this for a living, but didn't see how it was possible. Well, now I had the perfect opportunity! In a small town in East Texas it isn't like you have many options for an Interior Design job. So, after lots of PRAYER, conversations, research, and more PRAYER with wonderful encouragement from my closest friends and family, I decided I would start my own business!

Three months down the road of planning, meetings, decisions, etc. and I am officially in business according to the Sate of Texas! My amazing brother-in-law Spencer S. Chaffin (3rd year Law Student) acted on my legal behalf and filed the requirements to set up my LLC (Limited Liability Company) and my DBA (Doing Business As). THANK YOU Spence!! It would have been soo much harder without you! I filed for my Tax ID # and received it this past week, and plan to set up my business bank account early this next week!

Once this is complete, be prepared to be bombarded with advertisements, business cards, and all kinds of fun stuff to buy! I will be doing event planning and design work (remodels, new construction, color consults, etc.). I will also be selling stuff that I make, which you will see but my goal is to sell anything and everything you would need for a party, home decor, seasonal decorations, and random nik-naks (hence the name =)).

God has truly given me the desires of my heart! I plan to work for Him and give Him all glory and praise! I ask you to be in prayer for me and this business as it grows! I have such a wonderful support system, and am blessed beyond measure! Stay tuned for more updates and information!
